Here’s some thoughts about it, from an electric vehicle stand point…
I just read a great article written with the investors point of view in mind, but with a good degree of clarity as to what things might be like in 2019 and 2020 if Tesla does as well as optimists like myself expect.
Essentially 2020 would be the year they sell 1M Teslas, doubling from 500,000 in 2019. The article looks into how this could happen and what it would require as far as growth year-on-year, and production capacity etc.
While the article is imagining just Tesla’s success, the facts are that if they were able to sell 500,000 cars there would be many other manufacturers jumping in and the market would be exploding. People would be buying regular internal combustion engines with about as much enthusiasm as you buy a VHS recorder today!
That day will come, its just a question of when.
